MEN- how do you like to communicate to your girl/ wife?

and i don't mean sexually. i mean boring stuff like...what to have to have for dinner, date plans...etc. My boyfriend isn't much of a talker and we're having a lot of communication issues, he's very inverted. I love to communicate and it's essential to my mental health. I'm trying writing him a note where it says i'm cooking dinner on these nights...write suggestions here.. and i'm going running on these nights...are you in/ which dates? these are some of the things i'd like to do and these are my days off...pick a day and add suggestions/ circle ideas you like. whenever i write notes after we have had a fight he usually just gives it the quick once over and is done with it and doesnt really even read all of it. so i'm not sure if this is going to work. i'm afraid to try e-mailing as i dont want to be disappointed with..
