Why do some men find it difficult and uncomfortable to express their feelings (see more)?

I find it interesting how some males tend to freeze up and dread discussing topics with their significant others, specificially if it's relationship related. Now I know women can be the same way, but I'm referring to men. What factors can play into this reluctance to communicate?

I can understand how some men may feel uncomfortable if their partner is rude or approaches the situation in rude manner, but how about if it is intended to be an adult conversation to deeply discuss concerns and/or ideas to better improve the relationship? Why do some men find it difficult and uncomfortable to express their feelings (see more)?
Men have so much to live up to...for self respect, future, societal reasons, relationships %26amp; offspring.

It's not that life is hard/impossible in anyway, but the stress on a man's mind is extremely intense (money, shelter, future, respect, power).

Some men just want that to be a personal thing, not a public thing. It is easier to hide it and seem fine, than to show it and start worrying about what everyone thinks.

People that don't care about what anyone thinks are very very rare. You can more or less analyze a person's emotional state of mind just by the way they react/act towards you, their friends, family and especially strangers(when you meet a new face, the real inside you tends to come out)

Ex.: If you are rude, you have problems w/ self respect. If you tend to look down on people, you look down on yourself before you go to bed at night.

Trust me...I'm a reasonably smart guy, and I have learned that you can break down most people in this world just by the way you look at them. It worked for me in the past w/ sales, job interviews and just learning basic human behavioral instincts for all of my life's relationships. Why do some men find it difficult and uncomfortable to express their feelings (see more)?
Because they were taught, by their parents and family, that men do not cry or express their feelings.

This why men develop more medical issues than women.
Because the fight or flight instinct kicks in and men towards flight when they think there's a chance of a fight
... I guess some men are just too damned macho to have a problem, I don't know what else to tell you.
fear of appearing weak.
being afraid of sounding week inside
